the Male Gaze Recipe [1969]
Joey: The dream I had made me think on a couple of levels: about stuck images in my head, about roles that are thrust upon me as a woman but that I'm actually fighting against, and also about how I can shoot pornographic images while still being fair to other people.
Alma: When Joey told me about her dream, I was amused and uncomfortable at the same time. Underneath the self empowering act of taking action in the own desire, there was something twisted. So many questions came up that I always felt but never elaborated. How is it possible to own your lust in a patriarchal system?
